State to overcome NEP implementation challenges
Shillong, Aug 2: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said though nobody is against the National Education Policy (NEP), challenges in implementing it are in terms of manpower and infrastructure and the government is ready to extend help.

Cabinet okays MPSC rules
The cabinet has approved the service rules of the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC).
Conrad said the MPSC has been functional for decades but it did not have service rules for its employees.
“Hence, today in the cabinet, we have finally cleared the service rules of the MPSC,” he said.
Medical council act amendment
Conrad said the cabinet also approved the amendment of the Meghalaya Medical Council Act (MMCA), 1987.
Earlier, there used to be the Medical Council of India (MCI) and in the MMCA, the word MCI was still there but as you are aware, the MCI has been changed and now it is the National Medical Commission (NMC) and that particular word had to be amended in the Act of the MMCA, he added.
