Shillong,Jan 20: Silman Sangma, the son of former chief minister Salseng C Marak, said on Friday that he is still with the Congress amid media reports that he has already joined the NPP.
“I have not joined anywhere, I am still with the Congress”, Silman said on Friday on phone from Resubelpara.
When asked about the photograph where he was seen with the Mendipathar NPP candidate Marathon Sangma and Williamnagar MLA Marcuise Marak, Silman said it was just a meeting with them and it was not at all a joining photo. “Meeting MLAs is a usual thing, I don’t know who spread it as joining the NPP”, he said.
He also added that the Congress is yet to declare the candidate for Resubelpara represented many times by his father and hence the question of leaving the Congress does not arise.
Besides Silman, Dr T Marak is one of the contenders for party ticket from Resubelpara.
