Shillong, April 25: A suspected affair led to the murder of a person in Mawblei on Saturday (April 25). The accused was arrested.

According to the police, on Friday, around 8 am, a person identified as Sumeet Kr Singha (40) of Mawblei ŵas assaulted by Sanjay Kumar (42), a co-tenant inside the building, using a No-Parking board. The reason for the assault is that the victim suspected Kumar of having an affair with his wife, which led to an argument and a fight. The victim was shifted to Supercare Hospital here, but was declared brought dead. “The accused was arrested, and a case of murder was registered”, the East Khasi Hills SP Vivek Syiem said.
