Shillong, Oct 3: The village of Dympep hosted “Ki Dienjat ka Dympep”, a vibrant celebration of food, art, live music, and indigenous games, organised by NEEPCO in collaboration with Pynche, on October 2.
The event was graced by Gavin Mylliem, MLA, as Chief Guest and Padmashree Patricia Mukhim as Guest of Honour, inspiring the community with their words of encouragement.
Highlights of the day included the clay art space, indigenous games, culinary and sculptor workshops, performances by Dympep LP/UP school students, and a stirring live performance by the legendary Lou Majaw. The “Seasoned by the Rains – Food Experience” further showcased local produce and sustainable food practices.
Celebrated under the theme of Swachh Utsav, the festival blended cultural pride with the message of sustainability, community well-being, and collective responsibility towards a cleaner, greener future.
