Shillong, Sept 8: The familiar laughter is back. The news of return of amiable RG Lyngdoh to Congress has brought ripples of rejuvenation, like his laughter, to the beleaguered party here. The former Congress man is set to rejoin the party after a hiatus of 13 years. He spoke to journalists on Thursday at his residence as to why he chose to rejoin the Congress. According to the former home minister, there is hope under the leadership of Shillong MP Vincent Pala as the new MPCC president. Watch the video.
Lyngdoh is also critical of the MDA government for its ‘poor’ performance index and the manner in which the law and order is being tackled especially in the context of the killing of former general secretary of HNLC Cherishstarfield Thangkhiew. He refused to comment on additional questions on contesting next elections. Watch the video
