A meeting to discuss the formation of the  Executie Committee was held at the residence of Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar here on Monday.

NPP national general secretary and deputy chief minister Sniawbhalang Dhar said, “We thank the people of Jaintia Hills for reposing their faith and trust in the NPP by giving their mandate in 13 seats.”
He said the strength of the NPP is now 14 after Independent MDC from Rymbai-Khliehriat Violent Lyngdoh joined the party.
“We also held a meeting with our coalition partner – United Democratic Party (UDP), which won 3 seats and Independent MDC from Jowai South Moonlight Pariat and with their support we have decided to form the new EC in the JHADC with the strength of 18 MDCs,” he said.
Dhar said the meeting has decided to again nominate Shiwat as the chief executive member of the JHADC.
Regarding the poor performance of the party in the KHADC polls, Dhar said, “We got only 4 seats from Khasi Hills, we will do a postmortem to find out the reason”.
MDA partners will meet on Tuesday to discuss the polls, he added.
