Shillong, March 16: Police arrested three persons together with marijuana in East Jaintia Hills District on Wednesday.
According to the police, the driver of a Honda City (AS 06 V 8941) identified as Laxmindar Gour was arrested after 84 kg of marijuana was recovered from inside his vehicle while conducting a naka checking at Damcherra, Kuliang, NH-6.
Police also arrested Md Hachan Mia (37) and Ajir Hosen (35) from Tripura after 77kg of marijuana was recovered from a Mahindra KUV 100 (AS 12 P 2301).
Police said all formalities under NDPS Act have been observed in the presence of independent witnesses and cases have been registered with the Lumshnong police station.
Two women heldÂ
In another case on Thursday, two women were arrested in connection with facilitating movement of drugs in the city.
0ver 55 gm of heroin was recovered from them.
