Shillong, June 30: Health Minister AL Hek said the prefab structure for Covid hospital at Lawmali will be completed within 3 months.
Hek conducted an inspection at the site on Wednesday.
He told reporters that earlier there has been some resentment expressed by the Dorbar Shnong. “However, today we have met and made them understand that the prefab structure is urgently required,” Hek said.
The 100-bed Covid hospital will also have a pediatric ward for catering to the children. Work is being carried out on a war footing, Hek said.
The health minister was also one of the recipients of the Covid-19 awards presented by Governor Satya Pal Malik at Raj Bhavan. The function was organised by the Rotary Club, Shillong.
Hek said the award was presented as a mark of recognising the services rendered during the ongoing Covid pandemic.
Other recipients of the award are Secretary ,Matsiewdor War Nongbri, DHS (MI) Dr Aman War, Ri Bhoi DC RM Kurbah and East Khasi Hills DC Isawanda Laloo.
