Shillong, Apr 26: Police arrested three more youths from Assam in connection with the rape of two minors in South West Garo Hills.
The incident took place during the Chenga Benga mela.
The Superintendent of Police, South West Garo Hills, Vikas Kumar said the arrested youths aged between 22 to 25 are from South Salmara district of Assam bordering South West Garo Hills.
They were arrested from South Salmara and the court granted police custody for 5 days.
Earlier, four youths were arrested in connection with the crime.
Out of the earlier four arrests, one was held from a bus in Rajabala, West Garo Hills when he was going to Guwahati, another from Teporpara (Assam-Meghalaya border) and two others by the Assam police from Hatsingimari, South Salmara, Assam.
