Tibetan community holds prayer meet in support of Dalai Lama
Shillong, April 20: The Tibetan community of Shillong began its two-day prayer service at Lumparing monastery from Thursday in protest against the viral video of Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama shown in poor light.
Tibetan settlement officer Tenzin Samten said the video clip was shot in February and wondered as to why it was circulated out of context.
Difference between lust and love should be understood, the official said, alleging that the circulation of the video in part is the game plan of Chinese authorities.
The Tibetan women’s group has also expressed concern over criticism against their spiritual leader.
In the video of a gathering, Dalai Lama was shown as kissing a boy on lips and making a request to suck his tongue.
Later, the spiritual leader apologised to the boy and the family.
