Shillong, March 20: Senior NPP MLA Timothy Shira was again elected as the Deputy Speaker.
He was elected unopposed on Monday since there was only his nomination.

He had held the post of the deputy speaker from 2018.
Congratulating Shira, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said that Shira has been contesting the Assembly elections since 1978.
TMC MLAs Mukul Sangma and Charles Pyngrope also recollected their association with him.
Other legislators, cutting across party lines, congratulated Shira.
