TMC leader questions cancellation of power projects leading to crisis
Shillong, May 11: Trinamool Congress leader Mukul Sangma has said power deficit Meghalaya is a victim of unhealthy political posturing of the parties, who were in the government in 2008 as they cancelled all power projects, which could have taken care of the gap between demand and supply.
Speaking to reporters, Mukul expressed concern over the present power situation which has led to imposition of long hours of load shedding in the state.
“Meghalaya is a victim of these same politicians who without using their whatever knowledge and wisdom God has gifted us without utilizing this, they have taken certain decisions which was because of their dirty mind and they cancelled all the decisions that were taken including the termination of the agreement with NEEPCO which were for hydroelectricity power generation and for thermal power generation”, Mukul said.
