Shillong, March 28: The Meghalaya Joint Council of Trade Unions and Associations besides the affiliated bodies have resorted to two-day strike against anti-people policies of the Centre from Monday.
The strike among others is against the reduction in the interest rate of EPFO from 8.5 per cent to 8.1 per cent in 2021-22.

The protest is also against fuel price hike as they pointed out that there is a hike of Rs 25 per litre of diesel for bulk buyers which will have a spiralling effect on the price of the commodities.
Banks have also extended support to the call of the trade unions.
