Shillong, March 27: The East Garo Hills police arrested one more person in connection with Rs 73 lakh cyber crime case.
The accused from Aizawl has been identified as Lalthlamuani.
Police effected the arrest in Aizawl after the team led by Inspector B K Mishra recently arrested another woman from New Delhi with the assistance from the police there.
The accused arrested from Delhi is Lalnunpui of Kolasib, Mizoram.
Police said some more accused persons from Mizoram and Delhi are involved in the case and they are likely to be arrested soon.
The complainant from East Garo Hills had deposited Rs 73 lakh as he was promised of around 5 million UK pound for building an orphanage.
There has been an increase in cyber crime related cases as per the data cof NCRB.
According to the police, in Meghalaya too there has been a rise in cyber crime cases and the citizens lost money in the new forms of cyber crime.
Police have issued advisories through the media and also by conducting workshop in various educational institutions and other places.
The citizens can dial 1930 if they face cyber fraud, the police said.
