Tripura protesters demand closure of Bangla armed group camps

Amarpur (Tripura), Aug 12: The Amarpur Sub-Division Conscious Citizens’ Forum in Gomati district has demanded the ouster of the Bangladeshi armed group Parbattyo Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti (PCJSS) led by Santu Larma.
About 1,000 protesters came out against PCJSS on Tuesday. The Forum submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Manik Saha seeking action.
In the memorandum, the protesters stated, “The issue of illegal immigration from Bangladesh is very serious. While illegal infiltrators from Bangladesh regularly enter Tripura through various border points, the organised illegal immigration is being done by the PCJSS led by Santu Larma. All their overground leaders and cadres of the PCJSS from Bangladesh have been settling into Tripura, while their armed cadres have established camps in border areas inside Tripura.”
Apart from settling at Nandan Nagar and Nagicherra in Agartala city, the PCJSS (Santu) established armed camps at Narayanpur/ Mog Para, Lakkhidar Para, Korollyachari, Kamalakha under Gandachara Sub-Division, Midhingechari under Kanchanpur Sub-Division, Sushenpara (Baghechara) under Amarpur Division along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
