Tripura:10 Bangladeshis with 2 Indian agents held

Agartala, Nov 26 (UNI): The Railway Protection Force (RPF) arrested as many as 12 people, including 10 illegal Bangladeshi nationals and two Indian middlemen, in two separate raids in the last five days from Agartala railway station, Northeast Frontier Railway (NRF) officials said in a statement here on Saturday.

The arrests were made during regular checks and drives against illegal migrants conducted by a joint team of RPF, General Railway Police (GRP), and Border Security Force (BSF) personnel at the railway station. The team apprehended three Bangladeshi men and an Indian agent who was involved in facilitating their crossing of the border and their onward travel on November 21.

The team nabbed at least seven illegal Bangladeshi migrants and another Indian agent from the railway station on Friday who was waiting for a train to Delhi.

All the apprehended persons were handed over to police, and their interrogation was underway in judicial custody, police said.
