Mynsyngat-Thangsko (EJH), Feb 7: Two more bodies were recovered from the coal mines at Mynsyngat-Thangsko in East Jaintia Hills on Saturday afternoon, taking the toll to 27.
The state disaster management authority said the number of the injured rose to 9.

NDRF and SDRF personnel are continuing their work, and search and rescue operations will continue, said NDRF commandant HPS Kandari. The Meghalaya Police’s bomb disposal squad and the fire service are also at the site.
The bodies were recovered around 12.30 pm. On Friday, seven bodies were recovered, taking the death count to 25 from 18.
