UDP reveals model code violation by CM by releasing schemes to North Shillong

Shillong,Feb 3: The UDP has alleged model code violation by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma by way of releasing funds to benefit North Shillong candidate.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, UDP leader Allantry F Dkhar said under the CM”s Special Development Fund, the chief minister released over Rs 68 lakh through the Deputy Commissioner, Devlopment Branch to North Shillong.
The projects were under NGO category.
He said over Rs 58 lakh was released for development works on January 18 which was the day of announcement of elections.
While nine development works fall under North Shillong constituency, one is in West Shillong.
Dkhar said what is glaring is that a copy in this regard was sent to Ransom Sutnga, who is the candidate of the NPP from North Shillong .
