Shillong, May 9: Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan has referred the letter of state cabinet minister AL Hek regarding the removal of NEHU VC to his department.
Hek had in April written to Pradhan referring to the demand of NEHUSU and KSU, NEHU unit for the removal of the VC and appointment of a new head.
In response, Pradhan wrote, “Thank you for your letter No. ALH/M/PER/1/2025/11 dated 3rd April, 2025 enclosing therewith a letter from the President/Secretary, North Eastern Hill University Students’ Union (NEHUSU) and Khasi Students’ Union, NEHU Unit regarding removal of the present Vice Chancellor and appointment of a new Vice Chancellor of North Eastern Hill University, Shillong.The matter has been sent to the concerned department for appropriate action”.
