Union minister of state to highlight Modi’s achievements
Shillong, June 26: The Minister of State for Electronics & Information Technology and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Rajeev Chandrasekhar will be in city on a two-day visit starting Tuesday.
During this official visit, the minister will engage in discussions with local party cadres, community and business leaders, with a primary focus on showcasing the accomplishments of Prime Minister Modi’s government over the past nine years.
In statement issued on Monday, the BJP said the minister will first land in Shillong, where he will start the day convening meetings with core-committee members from both the state and city party offices. Subsequently, he will visit Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians, where he will actively engage with community leaders.
After this, the minister will have an interactive session with the media. The minister will also participate in the Sampark Se Samarthan event later in the day, wherein he will visit local residents to engage with the citizens and talk about the nine-year achievements of PM Modi’s governance.
He will conclude his day by meeting influencers of the state, followed by interactions with prominent business leaders.
On the second day, Chandrasekhar will visit local residents and engage with individuals representing diverse communities.
At the end of the day, he will convene meetings with local business leaders who have established their enterprises within the state.
This is Chandrasekhar’s second visit to the state within a span of six months. During his previous visit in January, he launched PMKVY 4.0, an integral part of the Skill India Mission in Shillong.
This initiative introduced courses and skilling programmes for various fields, ranging from AI and blockchain to mobile repairing, vehicle maintenance, and management, empowering the youth with vital skills.

BJYM gears for LS polls
Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) the youth wing of the BJP in order to strengthen it’s organisation at the grassroot for the coming lok sabha elections due to be held next year has nominated Deepan G Momin and Akki M Sangma as vice presidents, Joydeep Ghosh and Anish M Sangma as general secretaries, Koster Diengdoh as Secretary and Varun Kumar as Treasurer besides 6 other executive members.
As part of the 9 years of Modi government celebration, the yuva morcha has reached out to first time voters of the state through its mahasampark abhiyan. An online governance quiz on the achievements of the BJP-led NDA government at the Center was also conducted nationally on June 24 and 25 in which youths from the state of Meghalaya participated and digital certificates were issued to those who performed the quiz satisfactorily.
The BJYM in coming months will reach out to all districts and mandal units of the party to conduct membership drive of like minded youths who are willing to work for the party in the forthcoming lok sabha elections. The schemes introduced by the Modi government at the Centre that are beneficial to the youths of Meghalaya will be highlighted besides popularising the resolve of the BJP govt to grant recruitment to 10 lakh youths of the country through the rozgar mela which forms part of the PM’s commitment to accord highest priority to employment generation in the coming years.
