“We are very clear that we are committed to our coalition partners. We are not the kind of political party that is an opportunist and simply looking at using and throwing and that is not the principal that we follow”, he had said when asked about any possible shake-up in the MDA.

According to Conrad, if there is any adjustment within the system at all, discussion will be initiated within the party and the coalition partners.

“It is not just that we won two seats that we get up in the morning and say that we don’t need coalition partners., that is not the kind of politics that we belive in. Obviously if we want to discuss anything, we will discuss together and we are not here to use and throw”, he said.

To  a query, the deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong said, “as MDA partners, we will again  continue even beyond 2023”,

The chief minister said he is yet to decide on the role to be given to the newly elected MLAs..

“First let them take oath, then we will decide on the matter”, Conrad said.

The two MLAs, Abdus Saleh and Pyniaid Sing Syiem will take oath on Friday.
