Shillong, April 5: Banphiralang Basaiawmoit, Vice President, Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress (MPYC) and other youth Congress leaders criticised NPP over cash seizure in Arunachal Pradesh.
Rs 1 crore was seized from the vehicle following the convoy of Chief Minister Conrad Sangma who was in Longding to campaign for party candidate on April 4.
The vehicle belonged to Harshvardhan Singh, executive director of Badri Rai company which has business interest in Meghalaya.
Though NPP downplayed the incident by saying that nothing was seized from the convoy of chief minister , the youth Congress leaders said that the projects initiated by Badri Rai company in Meghalaya were not free from defects whether it is Assembly dome construction in Shillong and PA Sangma stadium in Tura.
The youth Congress leaders said that the party will take up the matter with the Election Commission of India.
Election manifesto
The youth Congress leaders also read out the salient features of the party’s manifesto released on Friday.
The manifesto highlights empowerment of youth, women and Anganwadi workers among other sections of the society.
