13 Bangladeshi sailors rescued from doomed barge in Hooghly
Kolkata, Nov 4 (UNI): West Bengal’s coastal police in the Sundarbans rescued all 13 Bangladeshi sailors, whose fly ash-laden barge sank in the Hooghly on Wednesday night, official sources said on Thursday.
The barge while returning with fly ash from Haldia, was hit on the bed at Ghoramara island on Wednesday night and as the cries of the sailors of the sinking barge alerted local fishermen, they immediately sent SOS to coastal police station in Sagar Island.

Two trawlers from Sagar Police station rushed to the spot and evacuated all the 13 sailors before the barge (MV Banglar Shanti-1) sunk into the Hooghly.
