Shillong, May 8: Banbatjuban Khongwir and Magret Pathaw (in picture) emerged champions in male and female categories in the 31st annual Armwrestling State Championship 2022 held at KJP Assembly Hall, IGP, on Saturday.
This was informed by Junestar Kharbuli,president Meghalaya Armwrestling Association.
The championship was inaugurated by George Lyngdoh, MLA of Umroi Constituency.
More than 200 participants from East Khasi Hills, Ri Bhoi, West Khasi Hills, Garo Hills and Jaintia Hills participated.
This championship was also for the selection to participate in the national arm wrestling championship which will be held at Hyderabad from May 30 to June 6.
In the closing ceremony, MLA Ampareen Lyngdoh and Jasmine Mary Lyngdoh were chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
