Shillong,June 28: Ad hoc school teachers under the banner, the Federation of All School Teachers of Meghalaya (FASTOM) started their indefinite sit-in protest in front of the secretariat on Tuesday against the state government’s failure to enhance their salary.
Though the chief minister had convened a cabinet meeting on Monday, it failed to discuss the demands put forth by the adhoc teachers.

FASTOM spokesperson Mayborn Lyngdoh said, “We have decided to come back to the street because we have been betrayed by the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government.”
