New Delhi, Feb 18: In a major judgment, a special court in Gujarat on Friday sentenced 38 convicts to death in connection with the 2008 serial blasts in Ahmedabad, agencies reported.
There were 49 convicts in the case and the remaining 11 were sentenced to life imprisonment.

On February 8, the court had found 49 of the 78 accused guilty of various offences.
On July 22, 2008, 22 bomb blasts rocked Ahmedabad, the capital city of Gujarat, and killed 56 people and injured hundreds. Indian Mujahideen had claimed responsibility for the serial blasts.
