Shillong, Apr 1: As many as 40 companies of paramilitary forces will be deployed in the state for the April 19 Lok Sabha polls.
Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) BDR Tiwari told reporters on Monday that 40 companies of central armed police forces (CAPFs) were sanctioned for the polls and out of this, five companies of the CAPF have already been deployed in the state.

“Border related issues have also been taken up ahead of the elections. The Election Commission of India (ECI) is also issuing needful instructions and we are in consultation with the neighbouring state,” he said.
Till date, two complaints have been received on the violation of the model code of conduct.
