43 Covid cases in Raj Bhavan  

Shillong, May 30: Twenty five high risk contacts of Covid-19 patients tested positive in Raj Bhavan on May 28.

With this, there are 43 cases in Raj Bhavan.

A statement issued by Raj Bhavan said on Sunday that earlier on May 24, there were 18 positive cases.

“Yesterday, as per the test results made available, out of 80 high risk contacts tested, 25 have been declared positive.  This takes the total figure of positive cases among staffers and their family members to 43 . Out of these 43, there are 10 children below the age of 15 years. There are 3 who are with co-morbidities,” the statement said.

According to Raj Bhavan, the second wave of Covid-19 has been challenging as even a month back at one time there were 28 positive cases out of which 23 have since recovered.

In the current active cases, most of the positive cases are personal staff working in the main building and in service of Governor Satya Pal Malik.

The Raj Bhavan said under the guidance and supervision of governor, the Raj Bhavan secretariat and doctor are closely monitoring the situation and extending help to the affected persons with medical counselling and other support to the families.

Raj Bhavan has also extended gratitude to the state government and health department for the regular testing of high risk cases and monitoring of the patients as well as the vaccination drive organised for the staff.
