HNLC peace talks process on: Rymbui
Shillong, Mar 23: The government has initiated the process to facilitate peace talks with the Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC), Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui said on Wednesday.
The minister refused to divulge details of the process. “I want peace to prevail that’s all… We will try to resolve whatever issues that are there,” he said.
On the HNLC’s appeal to the government for suspending all action against the outfit, Rymbui said talks should start before “the nitty-gritty of the matter” is looked into.
“We have already appointed the representative of the government (interlocutor). Therefore, necessary communication will be made with him at this point of time… Like I said, I am not here to do a running commentary on that but I want that solution should be there, that’s all,” he added.
