Shillong, Aug 19: Deputy Chief Minister in-charge power Prestone Tynsong said the inquiry committee did not find any anomaly in the implementation of smart meters as alleged by the Leader of Opposition Mukul Sangma.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Tynsong said, “We did not find any misuse of power or money by the MeECL. We had constituted the inquiry committee and the retired judge had done his job and he had also submitted the report to the government and according to that report, no irregularity was found but we do not want to say anything as to what Dr Mukul Sangma wants to do, he can send the letter to anyone but from the power department we are ready to give answer”.
The HYC had also brought the matter through RTI query on smart meter project and the power department had explained to them, Tynsong said.
