Death of Mistry due to negligence of driver: Police
Mumbai Sep 4 (UNI): The death of former chairman of TATA sons Cyrus Mistry in a road accident is due to negligence of the driver, police official who are probing the accident said.
“Prima facie the accident seems to be a case of over speeding and the driver lost control,” official said.
According to the police, four people – Cyrus Mistry, Jahangir Dhinshaw Pandole, Dr Anahita Pandole and Darius Pandole – were in the Mercedes GLC car at the time of the accident.
Mistry and Jahangir Dhinshaw Pandole died in the mishap while Dr Anahita Pandole and Darius Pandole got seriously injured.
The car was driven by Dr Pandole, a top gynaecologist at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. She is also an activist who fought against hoardings at Marine Lines.
Darius, Anahita’s husband, heads the Private Equity of JM Financial as managing director and CEO.
Darius and Dr Anahita have been admitted to the intensive care unit of Vapi’s Rainbow Hospital. According to reports, both sustained multiple fractures but were in taking condition after the accident.
Meanwhile Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who holds the home department, had directed the state director general of police to conduct a detailed investigation.
