No player from Real Madrid in Euro squad

Shillong, May 24: For the first time in history, no player from Real Madrid has found a place in Spain Euro 2020 squad as Spain’s manager Luis Enrique Martínez García announced the squad for Euro 2020.
Spain and Real Madrid skipper Sergio Ramos has also missed the bus.
Ramos has been omitted from the squad on the account of his not so impressive performance in Real Madrid and also because of his recurring injuries, with his age already on the wrong side.
Moreover, due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, each team in Euro has been allowed to name a 26-man squad, but La Roja manager Luis García has only named 24 members and decided to leave out Ramos, inciting further speculations.
Not only that, this is the first time in history that not a single player from La Liga heavyweight Real Madrid has made it to the Euro squad. Also, no Spanish squad at a key competition had ever been without a single player from Real Madrid.
García made it clear that there was no other reason for this, except injury allied issues. “It is possible as players like Dani Carvajal and Sergio Ramos [had] injuries during the season. Apart from that, I cannot pick the squad based on whether some people will be happy or not,” said García during a media interaction.
With the tournament starting next month, the inclusion of Ramos in the Spanish squad looks grim. However, chances in the final squad are expected before the tournament starts. When Luis García was asked if Ramos not being in the squad will affect the team in Euro 2020, he replied, “Any decision I made about Sergio Ramos would have been controversial. I know where I am and accept there will be media noise.”
Ramos is not the only big name missing from the squad. Players like Hector Bellerin, Dani Carvajal, Sergi Roberto, Kepa, Jesus Navas, Roberto, Sergio Reguilon, Dani Ceballos, Rodrigo Moreno and young Barcelona sensation Ansu Fati also missing the Euro bus.
