Shillong, March 18: VPP chief Ardent Basaiawmoit said on Saturday that the party will put up candidates in all the 29 seats in KHADC, several seats in Jaintia Hills and will also fight the Lok Sabha polls in early part of 2024.
Speaking to reporters after the ‘gratitude rally’ organised by the party at Polo ground, Ardent said that the party is ready to field candidates in the upcoming polls.

He also ruled out joining the government and added that the party will be in the Opposition to raise issues concerning the people.
Braving the rain, a large number of people gathered at the Polo Ground to listen to VPP chief.
Earlier, addressing the gathering, Ardent said that his party is preparing to form the government on its own in 2028.
He criticised the leaders of other regional parties for betrayal thereby denying the formation of government led by a regional force.
After HSPDP supported the NPP-led coalition, the UDP and the PDF joined the government.
