Shillong, May 19: Tension prevailed at Khyndailad (Police Bazar) on Friday after two local taxi drivers were assaulted by miscreants on Thursday night.
In protest against the attack, the local taxis were off the road and they prevented other local taxis from plying throughout the day.

More police deployment was visible at Khyndailad amid the presence of large number of local taxi drivers.
Earlier on Thursday night, in protest some angry youths punctured the tyres of police vehicles parked at Sadar police station.
An FIR was filed and police are on the job to arrest the culprits.
