BSF holds medical camp, helps civilians along Indo-Bangladesh border of Meghalaya
Shillong, Mar 21:The BSF has organised a Civic Action Programme (CAP) cum Free Medical Camp on Thursday.
The events were at border villages Dangar and Nolikata in the East and South West Khasi Hills districts of Meghalaya. Manoj Kumar Barnwal, DIG SHQ BSF Shillong and Rajiv Kumar, Comdt 193 Bn BSF were present.
The events witnessed the active participation of local headmen from nearby villages, the Medical Officer from PHC Dangar and aroundĀ 650 local villagers from surrounding areas including students. This initiative was aimed to provide much-needed healthcare services and community support to the residents of the bordering areas.
During the CAP, various essential items such as computers, water storage tanks, plastic chairs and tables, sports items, utensils and others were distributed to the nearby villagers and school children. During the free medical camp, doctors from the BSF conducted the medical check-up and free medicines were also distributed to the patients. A cultural programme was organized by theĀ school children of Govt Upper Primary School Dangar.
The headmen and local villagers of the area expressed their appreciation for the effort of the BSF Meghalaya in providing essential items and medical support to the needy border villagers.
