Shillong, Apr 24: The escort vehicle of retired major general Rajesh Kumar Jha, who is holding the post of NEEPCO director ( personnel), faced a petrol bomb attack on Wednesday evening.
According to the police, the incident took place around 7 25 pm at Demthring Block-2 under Madanrting Police Station while the vehicle (in picture) was escorting the NEEPCO functionary to his official residence at Laitkor.
The miscreants lobbed the petrol bomb while the vehicle was stuck in a traffic snarl. However, there was no damage.
A police official downplayed the incident by saying ‘some miscreants threw a burning cloth on one vehicle’.
A case was registered with the Madanrting police station.
The incident is after the arrest of two KSU activists who were allegedly involved in the killings in Ichamati and Mawlai Mawroh.
