Shillong, Aug 9: The cabinet has approved holding a second SSLC exam for failed students two months after the main examination.

After the cabinet meeting on Friday, Education Minister Rakkam Sangma said usually the supplementary examination comes after a year which deprives the students one academic year. With the cabinet decision, the MBoSE will be able to hold the second exam in May.
He said the goverment is following national education policy besides central boards used to follow the supplementary exam after two months.
The cabinet approved the amendment to Meghalaya Board of School Education Regulation to have two exams.
