Shillong,Jan 16: The cabinet approved three awardees of the Meghalaya Day Awards 2026.
“Dr KS Nongkynrih has been approved for the U Tirot Sing Award for Arts & Literature, Fr Binoy Joseph for the Patogan N Sangma Award for social services and Riyolang Dhar for U Kiang Nangbah Award for Sports and Games,” Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma announced after chairing a cabinet meeting on Friday.
The awardees have been selected for their outstanding contributions in their respective fields.
Dr KS Nongkynrih, Fr Binoy Joseph, and Riyolang Dhar will be recognized for their achievements on Meghalaya Day on January 21.
The chief minister also mentioned that the cabinet has cleared the republic day speech, which will be read by the Governor in Shillong and by respective cabinet ministers and other dignitaries in different parts of the state.
