
Shillong, March 1: The Army started vaccination of all Agniveers at Assam Regiment Centre and health care workers at Shillong military hospital following the recent death of two Agniveer trainees due to meningococcal bacterial infection.
“Health care workers and persons in close contact of suspected cases also received vaccination at Assam Regimental Centre, 58 GTC & MH Shillong”, said the Defence PRO.

“The requisite numbers of vaccines have been received”, the PRO added.
No fresh cases of suspected meningococcal bacterial infection have been reported in Assam Regiment Centre.
“Close monitoring and surveillance is still being carried out by the Army medical authorities, the official said, reiterating that there is no cause of concern.
