Four killed, over 4k affected due to natural calamity in state

Shillong, April 28: Four people were killed and five injured in various incidents due to natural calamity in the state.

According to the data from the disaster management authority, from April 1 to 28, 4,989 were affected and 875 houses were damaged in 391 villages of 37 blocks.

Besides the death of two persons due to rockslide in Mawlieh in Pynursla, two more deaths were reported.

Dayomitre Shylla died of lightning in  Umlyngsha village in East Jaintia Hills  while he was playing football.

Another person from Chidaret Ajagro village in North Garo Hills also died due to lightning.

The injuries to five villages were due to storm.

The damage to infrastructure facilities is 177, while crops were also destroyed .
