Shillong, May 31: Retired justice BP Katakey has sought a report on the body floating in one of the coal mines in East Jaintia Hills.
He also wanted to know about an overturned truck with coal in West Khasi Hills.
The high court-appointed committee, headed by him, met the officials here last week.
Katakey said on the phone that he sought a report from the police during the meeting.
What the police conveyed was that the body was yet to be identified.
The body was found floating on May 9 inside a water-filled abandoned coal mine at Mulait Bri-Sumer East Jaintia Hills.
The body was recovered on May 10.
Regarding the overturned truck carrying coal, Katakey said he had received videos of the incident, and added that the site is somewhere in West Khasi Hills.
