
Shillong, June 17: The bypoll to Lok Sabha seat is likely to be held after the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in October.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday( June 17), Chief Electoral Officer BDR Tiwari said that the SIR exercise will start on June 20.

The entire excercise will be over by the first week of October
The bypoll is expected after October 7.
The bypoll was expected in August this year following the death of the sitting MP Dr Ricky AJ Syngkon in February..
The normal duration to hold the bypoll is within 6 months.
