Shillong, Aug 8: On the occasion of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore’s 85th death anniversary (Baishe Srabon) , Tagore admirers from different parts of the city gathered to pay tribute to Rabindranath Tagore at Brookside on August 8 afternoon where Rabindranath arrived for the first time on October 11 1919 during his first visit to Shillong. In the morning Tagore admirers lit the death anniversary lamp in front of the statue of Rabindranath Tagore. Children from Nritya Malancha , singers from SHILLONG TAGORE CHOIR, reciters, dancers from different places performed in the afternoon programme.
The programme was organised by Malabika Bisharad on behalf of Tagore admirers in association with Arts and Culture, Meghalaya.
