KSU suspends agitation temporarily

Shillong, Aug 26: The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) has temporarily called off its agitation following a meeting with Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on its five demands.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting on Wednesday (Aug 26), the former general secretary of the KSU, Donald Thabah said that the five demands were discussed with the government.

The union welcomed the decision of the government to institute a fact-finding committee on Shree Cement public hearing, efforts to implement MRSSA & amended Migrant Workers’ Act, recruitment of locals in NEIGRIHMS and reforms in public service commission.
