Shillong, Sept 5: An arson case was reported from Mawiong on Saturday morning, ahead of the hearing on city violence on September 7.
According to the police, information was received that a petrol bomb was thrown at MECOFED Mawiong whole sale regulated market located adjacent to MECOFED at Mawiong Umjapung but did not cause major damage except slight burning of main door. The incident might have occurred between 1am to 5 am, police added.
