Shillong Oct 7: The cabinet on Wednesday extended the tenure of Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) for six more months.
The first six-month-extension ends on October 17.

Extension of the House for one year is allowed as per the rule.
With this, the polls to GHADC will be held only next year. .
After the cabinet meeting, government spokesperson Wailadmiki Shylla announced the decision.
