Shillong, Oct 14: The East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner Abhilash Baranwal has said the administration will not allow Puja pandals on the PWD roads from next year.
Speaking to reporters, the deputy commissioner admitted that the Puja pandal in RR Colony is on the PWD road.
The pandal was allowed as shifting will cause inconvenience since preparations were done.
“However as far as the luckier road puja pandal is concerned, minor alterations were done towards the footpath” he said.
The police and the magistrates will ensure that traffic and the movement of people are not affected during Puja celebrations, the DC added.
