Shillong, Oct 22: The members of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) walked out of the official meeting on Thursday ( Oct 22), protesting against Dorbar for not holding the public hearing on the ropeway project.
Earlier, the tourism officials clarified all points, including all clearances obtained from the concerned central government agencies looking after environment and pollution issues.

After hearing the views of the government and the Dorbar, the secretary of JAC, Dr L Marbaniang, said that no public hearing was held regarding the project.
The members walked out by conveying that a gathering of a few from the Dorbar does not mean that there was a public hearing
