AH Scott Lyngdoh no more, daughter recollects his selfless service

Shillong, March 7: Former Home Minister AH Scott Lyngdoh (94) passed away at his residence at Pohkseh on Tuesday evening.

His daughter Pauline Warjri remembered him saying beyond a politician and a bureaucrat he wished to be known as a teacher.

“He had also told that he never took bribe in his lifetime”, Pauline said.

Late Scott had served the state as a minister with various portfolios, including Finance.

He had also functioned as the CEO of Shillong Municipal Board.

As a bureaucrat who had served in Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Andamans, his vast experience helped him to improve administration while governing the state.

His funeral service will start at his residence at Pohkseh at 2 pm on March 9 and his mortal remains will be laid to rest at Jaiaw Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
