Itanagar, Jan 17 (UNI): Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig. (Retd) Dr B D Mishra on Monday expressed grave concern over frequent bandh calls affecting life of citizens and advised people to not enforce such ‘life disruptive’ agitations for the sake of common man.
The governor shared his concerns on the ‘bandh culture’ when Chief Minister Pema Khandu called on him at Raj Bhavan here to discuss the issues pertaining to state development, Covid pandemic, law and order, and education.
A communiqué from the Raj Bhavan said the governor shared his deep concern about normal life disruption of the common man due to the frequent agitations and bandh calls. He advised the people not to force life disruptive agitations which badly affect the daily wage earners, school-going children, housewives and poor people.
The governor also expressed his deep concern about the ‘rising’ Covid-19 positive cases in the state. He advised firm implementation of Covid appropriate behaviour and protocol to check.
On the developmental front, the governor emphasised on close monitoring and unhindered progress of the developmental projects in the state.
He further stressed on speedy construction of roads in the State considering the early arrival of monsoon over the State and limited rain free working period availability.
During the meeting, the Governor and the Chief Minister also discussed starting the State University at Pasighat in East Siang district and general improvement in the education system in the State, the communiqué added.
